Due to the nature of the business, websites change ownership and management over time. Some close, some change direction. As well, Zero Cattle does protected, confidential outsourcing work for larger firms. Because of these facts of the industry, not all work can be represented here. For references not listed here, please contact me.
Please view any of the clients on the left, only current clients reflect our current work, some clients have moved to maintaining their own sites, or have come to a close. Thank you to all clients, past and present, for your trust and for the pleasure of working with you.
Four Years
Amazingly, in the last four years my business site has fallen on hard times. Pages are missing, browsers have upgraded and changed support (actually we weathered that fairly well, thankfully).
Why the hard times? For the best of reasons -- we've been really busy with the work with some larger clients, and keeping up with the smaller clients who need infrequent but regular development.
Major redesigns are not a good way to go unless your site is hopelessly in the past (as this one is getting!) -- but even then, you'll want to have a plan to transition your existing links and information. Don't abandon your users!
Over 2009 we'll be updating ZeroCattle.com with new features, new client spotlights and pushing to keep our business fresh instead of dated. I hope you'll stick with me as we get this underway in the spirit of continuous improvement—something we've always embraced, well before it became a marketing mantra—it's a good mantra. Start with something solid, and build, tweak, improve as you learn and as you go.
There isn't a business out there that has it all together all the time, from inception to current day. It doesn't work that way, despite the increasingly loud critics in the financial pages, nor the self-declared experts on everything from parenting to preparing a good meal. Neither business nor personal development grows smoothly at all times, and neither grow without attention and clarity of focus. So how do you succeed? Continuous micro evolution of your content, your products, your service. Continual revision and attention to processes, with transparency and integrity.
We can do this together, give me a call.
Featured Client: Small-Packages.com
I am thrilled to announce the completion of a quick project where I worked closely with the owner of Small-Packages.com on her new logo and site design.
Redesign
We took the original colour scheme and updated it by extending the values to include light and medium values. This allowed for some more flexibility in the design process. Moving the strong blue and orange colours to the position of accent colours resulted in an interesting rise of the earth tones, emphasizing the down-to-earth and personal aspect of this business.

Logo Redevelopment

From the original logo, we took the three dimensional package and reworked it to have the name of the company on the package itself. There is also a subtle ethernet/mouse connection forming an ‘S’ shape.
This versatile logo can be used in silhouette, grayscale, or alternative colour schemes and allows for the iconic package shape to be used as a design element elsewhere in the site, emphasizing the small packages name.

The End Result
The whole design emphasizes the idea of small packages in a pleasant and appealing, non-threatening atmosphere, perfect for the low-tech nature of the clients of Small Packages, without losing the clear friendly feel of the content.
Small-Packages.com specializes in very small hosting packages ideal for small personal sites, blogs, brochure or gallery sites for small businesses and more, at small prices.
